We really liked both the room we had on the 16th floor (near the top) and the convenient location of the Hotel Route Inn Grand Asahikawa Ekimae. The room was at the end of the corridor and we had spectacular views across the city to the mountain range in the distance, including snow-capped Asahidake. (Though it was cloud covered for much of our stay.) The Hotel is about a 2-4 minute walk from the station, with the check-in facilities up on the 3rd floor, by elevator. The room itself was a twin non-smoking room, but of the slightly larger type, since there were two tub armchairs and a table in a seating area by the window. There was enough space to put closed-up, medium-sized suitcases out of the way. There was sufficient hanging space just inside the door, in an open-closet arrangement. The Hotel was also one block from Aeon Mall (which adjoins the Station, with a good supermarket, including prepared meals of sushi and some sashimi, salads, heat-up meals etc. There was also a Delifrance if you like European style pastries. Up on the 17th floor, along with the baths, there was a laundry room with 4 washing machines & 4 dryers, a microwave, ice machine & drink vending machines. It was also close to the lovely Kitasaito Garden on the other side of the station, which you can access through the station. It's a long, linear park each side of a small stream, with beautifully maintained flower gardens and a promenading pathway on both sides.

Location: The hotel is conveniently located closer to JR Asahikawa, which is linked to the nearby Aeon mall as well. Convenient to get groceries. Also located near to the streets with ample eateries. Room: Ample space to move about. Parking: I enquired earlier about parking before booking. They had quite a lot of parking spaces which led me to make the decision to book here. For the benefit of everyone here from their reply on parking spaces: Our parking can store 176 cars. Cars under 210cm can store 32 cars. Cars under 183cm can store 56 cars. Cars under 155cm can store 88 cars. Parking is chargeable, which we are okay with! (one night is 800 yen.)

Strategically located, just opposite the main station. Well equipped facilities (restauranrs, onsen, even a Seicomart convenience store downstair). What is amazing : there are ample parking spaces indoor in a multistorey garage (full service staff to help us, even cleaning ice blocks from the vehicle), so the next morning I have my car ready to go, snow free. We happened to realize that a piece of our belonging left in the room. Upon emailing the hotel, we were pretty amazed that the hotel staff took extra miles to arrange shipment of the item to our next destination point in Otaru. Amazing service level.

Location was great, just opposite train station and mall. Breakfast was great. This seems to be a business hotel, so the female onsen is usually empty. So the coin laundry machines in the female onsen is usually available. Rooms were a good size. Parking was efficient. Staff at car park were very helpful. I thought I might have dropped my glove and was checking with the staff, who patiently helped. As I can't speak Japanese, she took out a translator and used it to resolve the issue.

There is a small onsen on the top floor. Convenient location next to the railway station and various shops and restaurants. Very nice breakfast buffet with lots of freshly prepared Japanese food. Car parking with lift available. Staff didn't speak much English but was very friendly and helpful. Thanks a lot. It was a very pleasant stay.
